AlienPants’ Game Guru Ends it’s Run on the Game Network

LONDON – 15 October 2003 – AlienPants’ production of Game Guru, the live Games Cheats show created by AlienPants Ltd (www.alienpants.com) and broadcast nightly on the Game Network (Sky Digital EPG 223) will be ending on October 15 th.

AlienPants would like to thank the following people for their involvement in the program during it’s 10 months of being produced and broadcast by AlienPants Ltd.

  • Long term presenter and game guru extronidaire Stuart “Stoo” Macdonald for all his hard work since Game Guru first launched in December 2002. Stuart has been instrumental in turning Game Guru into the hghly successful program it has been.
  • Tom “Electric Boogaloo” Salter for being the second longest serving Game Guru after Stuart. Tom built up his own following as a Game Guru, and only his lack of access to broadband has kept him from continuing as a game guru.
  • Greg “Qoreq” Bristol for being an off-camera Game Guru from his home in Washington, USA, as well as being the being a full-time TV Text Chat moderator for the Game Network’s long-running on-TV SMS chat service for almost a year and a half.
  • Peter “Starman” Batten for his hard work and dedication as a full-time TV Text Chat moderator for more than a year and part-time off-screen Game Guru.
  • Joel “Appl” Bowers for also helping out when Game Guru needed off-camera moderators. Despite living in Toronto , Canada , Joel has been a valued member of the AlienPants Game Guru and TV Text Chat Moderation team for more than a year.
  • Greg “Sydrik” Syder for his help and assistance since early this year. Greg was originally a regular chatter on the Game Network, however he became a Moderator and Game Guru through hard work.
  • Sophie “Kali” Blakemore for stepping in and becoming an on-camera Game Guru despite knowing the show was ending.

“We’re sorry that our production of Game Guru is ending.” Said Tom Gordon, CEO of AlienPants Ltd. “The show is certainly popular, both with viewers and the Game Network as production will continue, just without our involvement.”

The Game Guru program was originally devised by AlienPants to provide games Hints, Tips and Cheats to viewers of the Game Network, and was the first program of it’s type broadcast on UK television. Since launching in 2002 AlienPants has produced more than 450 hours of live interactive television providing Hints, Tips and Cheats as well as release date information and general chat about PC and Console games.

Alongside the Game Guru program, AlienPants has been providing a live response Hints, Tips and Cheats SMS service, allowing users to send their cheat requests via SMS and receive a personalised response direct to their mobile phone. The GTIP service will also be closing on the 15 th, although a sister service is available via the CHEAT keyword on 86148.

About Game Guru
Game Guru is a nightly live, interactive television program produced by AlienPants and broadcast on the Game Network in the UK. Viewers can request cheats, hints or tips for their favourite games by sending in a text message to the Game Guru, who then responds on camera or on screen, providing true interactivity between the program and the viewers.
