LONDON - 15 July 2003 - AlienPants Ltd (www.alienpants.com) is pleased to announce that more than 10,000 cheat questions have been answered through the AlienPants SMS-based Hints, Tips and Cheats service currently licensed for use by Cellcast UK.
The premium SMS service is available to viewers of the Game Network, allowing them to ask a dedicated Cheat Master for a Hint, Tip or Cheat for any computer game simply by sending a text message.
“The service has been running well below the radar for several months now,” said Tom Gordon, CEO of AlienPants. “By hitting this milestone, we've shown that there is a demand for the service, and it provides the sort of response customers like. We're seeing a lot of customers using the service multiple times, and our customer base is growing on word of mouth alone.”
Once a customer has sent in a question, the Cheat Master then replies directly to the customer's mobile phone.
“The beauty of the system is its simplicity.” continues Tom. “As the service is a pure text service, customers will be able to use the service from anywhere and from any phone that supports Short Messaging. They don't need to connect to the Internet or call a telephone number. Just pause the game, send in your question, and the answer will come straight back to your phone. More than 4,000 people have used the GTIP service so far to get cheats for their favourite games.”
The 10,000th cheat request was a request for cheats for Splinter Cell on the PS2.
