What Is GTIP?
AlienPants first launched a trial premium SMS-based cheat service under the trademark GTIP in November 2002. After a successful trial the service entered an extended live trial in January 2003.

The GTIP Customer Support service is based around providing an immediate, live response to a question posed by a customer. The questions are submitted via a premium SMS keyword/short code combination, allowing easy access to the service to anyone who has a mobile phone.

Answers can be tailored to each individual question rather than questions having to be tailored to pre-recorded answers. This also allows customers to access game walkthroughs and specific problem assistance rather than just generic hints or specific cheat codes or combinations.

Why SMS-based?
There are more than 50 million mobile phones in the UK (and more than 300,000,000 in Europe), and the core market for console games players are also the largest owners and users of mobile phones and premium SMS services.

In addition, customers don't always have immediate access to a telephone capable of making a premium rate voice call, or cannot obtain permission from the bill payer.

How Do Customers Ask Questions?
The service is accessible through the use of premium SMS. Customers send their support query or question as a text message (SMS) to a nominated mobile shortcode, and the reply is then sent directly to their mobile.

How Much Does It Customers?
The minimum single fixed charge to a customer for a single answer is £1.

What Codes Do Customers Use?
GTIP doesn't use special codes to identify different games or consoles. The only 'codes' required are the SMS shortcode and a specific keyword.

Yes.

Are PS2 Games Supported?
Yes.

Are Gamecube Games Supported?
Yes, we can provide customer support, hints, tips and cheats for almost every game on every console, as well as the PC and older consoles like the N64 and the Dreamcast.

What Games Can be supported using the GTIP Service?
All of them. If there are cheats for a game, we can give them to you.
