Earn money by promoting the GTIP SMS Cheat service!
AlienPants is now accepting applications for people and websites to become a
GTIP SMS Cheat Service affiliate.
GTIP is a trademark of AlienPants Ltd.
GTIP Affiliate program
AlienPants provides a premium SMS cheat service through the
use of the keyword GTIP on the shortcode 60070. Customers can access the cheat
service by sending an SMS text message with the keyword GTIP followed by their
question to the shortcode.
The GTIP affiliate program extends this to allow other
people to earn money from the GTIP service by adding a second affiliate keyword
after the primary keyword. For example, if BarrysWorld became a GTIP affiliate,
they could choose a secondary keyword such as BW. So the full combination would
be “GTIP BW”. BarrysWorld customer can then access the BarrysWorld SMS Cheat
service by sending these keywords and a question to 60070.
For example, to get cheats for The Getaway, a customer
would send “GTIP BW the getaway” to 60070.
How do I sign up?
Email
bizdev@alienpants.com with the subject 'GTIP Affiliate'. Include a little
bit about your website as well as a link, and we’ll get back to you as quickly
as we can.
How much do I earn?
For more information about how much you can earn from being a GTIP affiliate,
please email us on bizdev@alienpants.com.
How popular is the GTIP service?
We have answered more than 25,000 questions since the service was first launched, with more than 9,000 people making use of GTIP. On top of this, more than 42% of our daily users are regular customers, having used the service more than once.
Is it just for cheats?
No. Since the service is a live response service, we can
also provide information on release dates, hints about specific games, puzzle
solutions – in fact anything that can be asked in an SMS message.
What games does the service support?
Since the service is a live cheat service not a
pre-recorded or automated service, we can support just about every game ever
created, and we can provide cheat & hint support for new games the day they are
released.
What consoles does the service support?
About the only thing we don’t support at the moment
is cheats and hints for mobile phone games, mostly as there don’t seem to be
any. Since it’s a live service, we can provide support for every current console
and most older ones. We’ve even had requests for game release dates for multiple
consoles in the one question.
How much does the service cost my customers?
The GTIP service is a premium rate SMS service, and each
question will cost your customer £1 plus their normal SMS cost.
How does AlienPants track these secondary keywords?
Our cheat application automatically reads the primary and
secondary keywords from the incoming SMS message and assigns the question a
unique "company name" based on these keywords. This lets us track exactly how
many people have sent in questions using your secondary keyword.
Can I see how many people are using my keyword?
Yes, we will provide you with a unique username and login
to gain access to up-to-the-minute statistics relating to your affiliate
keyword, including a day by day breakdown of how many people have used your
keyword, along with how much you can expect to receive in payment.
What primary keywords are available?
At the moment we only have one primary keyword available,
GTIP.
What secondary keywords are available?
You can choose any secondary keyword you like (assuming it
hasn’t already been taken); however any secondary keyword you choose will need
to be approved by us.
How come there’s such a big difference between what it
costs and what I earn?
Premium SMS services in the UK suffer from very high
charges to provide, and the mobile carriers (O2, T-Mobile etc) take at least 50%
of the total cost of the SMS message in fees and VAT.
On top of that we have to pay another small part of the
cost to the company that provides us with the shortcode service, we have to pay
our cheat masters, and we have to take into account that roughly 10% of all
premium SMS messages don’t actually get paid for by the end user through
problems with non-delivery, or the inability to make a charge against the end
user’s account.
But don’t people use the internet to get cheats?
Yes they do but using the GTIP service for most people is
about convenience – they can use their mobile phone to ask a question and be
guaranteed a relevant response, saving them time and effort in tracking down a
particular cheat using the internet. It also lets people get cheats when they
don’t have access to the internet - there are far more mobile phones in the UK
than there are internet-connected computers.
How do I promote it to my customers?
How you promote it is up to you, although we can offer some
hints and tips.
-
Place banner ads on your site.
-
Write a feature item about it.
-
Add mention to the bottom of any newsletters you send.
-
Place a permanent link on the front page of your website to a page
explaining how the cheat service works.
We can provide some basic banners and buttons related to
the GTIP service that you can use as well.
If you choose to undertake some more formalised advertising
or promotion of the service through print ads, or other advertising then let us
know and we may be open to negotiation about how much you receive per question
asked by one of your customers.
Can I have a unique keyword? One that no-one else is
using?
Yes, you can. We also provide the GTIP service based on
individual keywords. You can earn up to 30 percent revenue share by licensing the
GTIP service on a unique keyword, however you will need to pay a monthly fee for
us to provide the unique keyword, as well as paying a small set-up fee.
This is part of our Publisher Program, and you can find out
more information at http://www.alienpants.com/gtip/.
What countries do you support?
At the moment we can only provide the service to UK mobile
phones, however we are actively working towards making the GTIP affiliate
program available in other countries.
We can also provide the Unique Keyword GTIP service in
countries other than the UK, although this will be by negotiation and will incur
setup and maintenance charges.
What languages do you support?
At present we only provide the service in English (since we
only provide it in the UK). Once we launch the service in other countries we
will also provide the service in other languages.
As with the unique keyword service though, we are happy to
provide the GTIP service in any language by negotiation.
