Golf Event: Open Invitation

Filed under: Gatherings, Golf — Duke @ 8:59 pm

I played a round of Golf when I was in Toronto last year and I spent a lot of time with my bro at the driving range. Since I got back to the UK I have spent a lot of time looking for a decent golf club. I think I have finally found one. I’ am going to visit the Trent Park Golf Centre tomorrow and it is highly likely that I’ll be booking a day at the course in early March.

I want to practice my swing. I can reach the 250 marker at the range but I want to try and increase that to 300 - 400 marker. If you’d like to come along, contact me via cell or email ASAP - I’ll update this post with costs, confirmed date etc tomorrow evening.

Update: Due to my ISP going offline on Friday I have only been able to update this post today, Monday 23rd February.

Based upon the amount of emails I have received so far, I will not be posting details of the golf day online. This is mainly because I don’t want ‘certain’ people just turning up and bugging my friends and I. For those that will be attending, you will receive an email before 20:00 hours tonight.

Labour: An Epic Failure

Filed under: Labour — Duke @ 8:42 pm

The following blog post has absolutely nothing to do with the Epic LAN events pinned in the gaming calendar. However, this blog post contains a number of observations that I have made over the past few months based upon the current dopes that run the Government

Under a Labour government, Public Transport has become expensive and over crowded.
Under a Labour government, the 2012 Olympics are under funded
Under a Labour government, were completely unprepared for the snow.
Under a Labour government, Emergency Services are stretched to breaking point.
Under a Labour government, were totally unprepared for the floods.
Under a Labour government, a number of you elected a dope (aka Boris Johnson, as the London Major).
Under a Labour government, has encouraged even more drunken dopes onto the streets at all hours.

I voted for Labour in 1997 as I was duped into believing there would be ‘real’ change under a Labour Government but all I’ve seen so far, is failure after failure after epic failure. The Labour government, has become an EPIC FAILURE.

The UK gets a little bit of snow and the Country falls apart… completely ridiculous and pathetic in this day and age.

Agree? Disagree? Do you have a Labour failure that should be added to the above list? Or do you have a point to raise? Please leave your opinion in the comment box, thanks.

Snowday

Filed under: Work, Snowday — Duke @ 4:45 pm

I woke up at 5.30am this morning and proceed to go through my regular routine before leaving for work. I left the house at around 6.30am and walked up to the Cambridge Roundabout to catch a bus to Whetstone. I waited around for about 30 minutes and was told by a passerby that there was no public transport operating in London. Also, I received a phone call informing me of the situation. I decided to go home. I called my work place and they advised that Tuesday may be another snowday.

So far, I’ve taken the dog for a walk and she ended up dragging me across the bridge and due to the mutt getting cold paws, I ended up carrying her home. I cleared all the snow from the front garden path but as soon as I was done, snow had covered it again. Damnit. I had a snow ball fight with the dog and I won, Mwhaha!
