Introducing Mojo!

Filed under: My Dog — Duke @ 2:14 pm

Last night, I took a train over to Orpington to visit a lady who was selling a puppy. The lady brought the pup a few days ago from a couple of people who didn’t look after the pup too well. She’s malnourished and it’s my job to fatten up the little mutt. In no way, shape or form is Mojo a replacement for Trixie.

Age: Seven months old.
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Sex: Female.

I find it disgusting the way some people treat animals. I don’t understand why someone would purposely want to starve an animal to death. Although in retrospect I do prefer animals over human beings… simply because you won’t find them f**king each other over for money, a promotion or anything else.

London’s Vancouverism

Filed under: Canuck — Duke @ 11:41 pm

“Vancouverism” is fast replacing “Manhattanism” as the maximum power setting for shaping the humane mixed-use city, important ideas for a new era of scarce energy and diminished natural resources. Source.

Not long until the exhibition, expo and celebrations begin. I’ll be attending all of the events throughout the summer. Coverage from the events will begin next weekend.

Quick Update!

Filed under: Friends, Health and Wellness, Work, Movies, BSG, LHR T3 — Duke @ 4:20 pm

Just a quick post to keep you updated on the latest. First thing’s first, I started a new job at London Heathrow at the beginning of June and yesterday, my line manager offered me a promotion which I accepted.

I will be posting more about the new role in the coming days but due to the sensitive nature of my work, I will not be able to divulge a great deal of information about it. This does mean I won’t be working in the games industry anymore but rest assured, I will be blogging about the topic’s I have posted about in the past, and I will be revealing a few thing’s some publisher’s and websites don’t want you to know.

In other news, I’ve seen ‘The Happening’ - think chemicals and the movie, Day of the Triffids without the man-eating plants. Also watched ‘The Incredible Hulk’ which wasn’t that incredible but I did like the ending. Oh, the mid-season finale of BSG was pretty awesome.

Apart from the above, I’m planning two trips: Toronto in September and Burbank, California in November. I haven’t had much time for anything else. Although I will be, at some stage, going to visit Myra and Gunit in their new home and hosting a gathering in London soon.

One last thing… I have completely given up smoking. About a week ago, my carbon monoxide reading was at level 31 (Heavy smoker / 20 plus per day). I had a reading this morning and it was in the green, 3. (Non-smoker).

Why I’ll buy a 3G iPhone.

Filed under: Apple, iPhone 3G — Duke @ 4:44 pm

Simon posted an interesting question and here is my response. I wanted to buy an iPhone when they were released last year but I didn’t want to downgrade from 3G to Edge.

I’ am pleased o2 and Apple have decided to sell the 3G iPhone on the ‘Pay as you Go’ tariff because this would be ideal for me because I don’t want to be stuck with anything long term until I’ve moved.
