I check through over 400 websites RSS feeds on a regular basis and I want to find the ideal reader that actually works on the web and my mobile phone. I was using RSSReader as my main feed reader but it is annoying. I’m currently using Onfolio but I can’t access it via my phone.
Steve has suggested using google’s RSS feed reader which is pretty neat and Im thinking of using it as my dedicated reader. Does anyone have any other ‘reader’ suggestions?
Pro-G will be launching an Internet video streaming service titled ‘Pro-G TV’ unlike any other online, well apart from Totally360’s cool media collection
The company is seeking a Producer to head up their televised ventures so if you have the skills and want to find out more, hit this link for a full job description. Good luck!
Totally360’s latest podcast is now available to download. This week’s show features an exclusive interview with Gary Conti, Associate Producer for Star Trek: Legacy. I was fortune enough to have submitted a couple of questions for the interview and it is time to listen to the interview in full.
Engage podcast, thanks Wayne
Edit: w00t – I just noticed that The Rabies Shot is linked on the official game site of Star Trek: Legacy.
I just read this article on the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Is it me or has it all become really boring already?
As an early adopter of technology, especially within the home I’ am yet to be convinced by either of the new HD-DVD or Blu-Ray formats. I do not see any reason why I need to upgrade any of the hardware in my home to cater for either format. The reasoning behind this is that I will have to re-buy all of the movies I have collected over the years, and then buy a HD or Blu-Ray player.
One question that I’d like answered about the apparent need to upgrade: why do I need to buy either format especially when I have the ability to download digital media on the fly via the internet? Ok, if the UK used fibre optics rather than copper wiring then maybe we would get somewhere FAST.
A number of companies are spearheading the development of digital services such as classic movie downloads, games, TV, Music, Mobile TV etc. I just think that there is no real need for either the HD or Blu-Ray formats as it is now becoming time consuming understanding all of the tech jargon, the expense of upgrading and then wondering what will happen if HD-DVD or Blu-Ray fail… then what would you do with the player, the discs?
I would rather buy a device that allows me to collectively store all of my digital media on one central hub, which is then accessible by whatever device I want to connect to it. Surely that would make more sense than creating a format which will be obsolete in the next few years whilst we already harness the ability to utilise software and technology which are available today.
I’ve had a brief respite but I’m now back and ready for action. Let’s see what this week brings.
Orange has release a FREE report which covers a range of topics. I’m quite amazed that Orange actually released this white paper for free. If you want to have a read of the report, hit this link and sign up to the Orange partner site. It is interesting reading for those interested in the mobile market.
As there are now only three months of 2006 left to go. I thought I’d make a list of goodies that are coming out in the next few months that I’d like to be playing right NOW, so here goes:
New home entertainment exercise device:
Nintendo Wii - I’m still not sure about the games but the virtual console looks like it will bring back the golden days of retro gaming. Oh yeh, I’m not sure if Lucas Arts has announced a Star Wars game for the Wii but if they do, I’d get it.
Red Steel
Xbox 360 Games:
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent
Gears of War
Just Cause
F.E.A.R. 360
Call of Duty 3
Viva Piñata
Crackdown
Star Trek Legacy – ah yes, that reminds me. I’ve got to send Wayne some interview questions quick time otherwise he’s going to slap me.
I think that’s about it for games in 2006. There may be more games but the above is what I’m most looking forward too.
Tricky decision as I’ve already walked up and down Las Rambles but I’m more than happy to go to Canada. If there was an event in say America, Japan or some other funky country then I’d attend it but as it’s in Europe there is not much point as I can go to Europe and get lost anytime.
Anyhoo, not long. Only four days to go

On Monday evening I was due to have a meeting with VU Games and Pro-G Media which had previously been postponed due to time issues but we at least had a time and date for the meeting. Around 4pm on Monday I started getting ready, I walked out of my house and down to the local newsagent to buy a one day travel card.
I walked down to the bus stop and before I even got to it, some chap walked up to me and asked me “why I was following him?” I replied “I’m not following you. I’m going to the bus stop, what is your problem? Besides I have better things to do than follow you around.” The chap then started making boxing type moves and I thought he was going to hit me and/or pull out a knife so I grabbed both of his arms so he couldn’t do anything. We scuffled around for a while but no punches were thrown, although he did push my buttons and he nearly got belted.
Lucky enough as this happened in daylight and there were a number of stores open, there were plenty of people around watching what was going on. (Notice: that they were just watching what was happening and didn’t help one bit). Shortly after the scuffle had ended the chap started threatening to use a ‘shank’ to stab me. At this point a bus pulled into the bus stop and was about to depart when the chap that assaulted me started knocking on the door. The driver refused to let him on the bus and then the chap kicked the exit door in and glass went everywhere.

Within a few minutes the police arrived but the chap had run away. I gave the police my details, a description of the suspect etc and was informed that I would need to make a statement at the local police station on Thursday. As I was waiting for the police to pick me up earlier today, I noticed that the suspect had walked past my house. I quickly called the police to report what I had seen. I kept an eye on him while he was waiting for a bus, he got on the bus and the police turned up. At the time the police that turned up to pick me up only just got the report that I had made, it was coming across the police radio as I greeting them. I informed them that I had seen the suspect and he was on the bus, the officer told me to get into the police car and bingo, the siren was whaling with the lights going - that was frikkin’ awesome!

We raced about a mile down the road to catch up with the bus. The bus stopped and we boarded the bus. I immediately picked out the suspect and he was promptly arrested.

I’ve just got back from making a statement and I feel relieved that all of this has been wrapped up so quickly. I still have to give evidence in court in the next few weeks but bloody hell, was I lucky or what? I’ve posted up some pictures that I took at the scene of the incident and a few from today.
The police were extremely helpful and I can’t thank them enough. I still can’t really believe what happened today but this has got to be one of the quickest cases of justice, ever.
