Well, today was interesting. I’ve just got back from the London Dorchester after visiting my father whilst he’s on holiday in the UK from Canada. The room is really cool and view over-looking Park Lane is pretty sweet. I’ll post up some snaps once I’ve transferred them from my mobile’s camera to my PC.
While I was hanging around the lobby of the Dorchester I got an email on my phone about the new deal Orange announced earlier. Orange has become Europe’s first quadruple play provider, meaning that they will offer Mobile, Fixed Line, Broadband and TV services on one single bill. The email was pretty cool because I’ve being selected to take part in a one month trail of the new service without cost - as I’m already a customer of Orange I think this new service would ideally for my digital lifestyle - I’ll let you know how this trail pans out once it’s all set up.
A few years back Rockstar Games sent me a number of promotional goodies such as Rockstar branded socks, GTA CD’s which was pretty decent of them especially as Christmas 2004 was approaching… anyhoo, Rockstar is still rocking my socks as Table Tennis is sitting in my Xbox 360 drive and GTA: Liberty City Stories is permanently in my white PSP - Rockstar games on the go, I think so
After browsing the headlines I came across this news piece. Virgin Mobile USA is about to kick off a campaign in the USA and they are partnering with Microsoft’s Xbox, Pepsico and the American Legacy Foundation’s anti-smoking campaign to show customers ads in exchange for free airtime – now I’m wondering if personalised advertisements via mobile phones (which has been done via TV) is worth while considering the investment which would needed and the strategic partnerships which will need to be formed in order to target the relevant demographic.

Currently I believe Three is the only network operator in the UK which uses personalised ads in return for free talk time or text’s, however the company behind the infamous Gizmondo had a similar ad campaign running before they went belly up. So, I leave it to you - are personalised advertisements via mobiles a good idea in return for free talk time?

Over the past few days I’ve really had a good chance to chill out and do some things I haven’t had time for in the past. As I’ve got the day off today I’m checking my PC’s hard drive and two other detachable drives for as much stat data as possible – basically I’ve got to check through over four years worth of work on the Xbox community which should be fun.
On another note: I just want to pass on my thanks to Helene, Gareth, Adam, Neil and Tom for their helpful advice over the past few days

Microsoft has just released the second public beta of Office 2007. I downloaded and installed the software last night as you can see by the screenshots below:

Once the installation had completed I restarted my computer and booted up Office 2007. Almost immediately I noticed a software conflict between Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook. So, I ended up removing the application and I think I’ll wait until the final release of Office 2007 alongside Microsoft Vista before messing with it again.
Rockstar’s Table Tennis turned up in the mornings post and so far I’m rather impressed. The game play is unique and very addictive because all I’ve done so far today is play the game… the way the score is laid out on screen reminds me of Pong. I think Table Tennis is one of those sports titles that you must own and the cool thing is it’s only £29.99 for the Xbox 360!
I’m in the middle of reviewing Hitman Blood Money and the review should be going live within the next few hours, stay tuned I’ll updated this page when it does go live.
