Oh and check out my preview of the game, enjoy!
I got back home around 9pm last night very tired after spending over 12 hours travelling and getting stuck in traffic. The road trip was good fun apart from the traffic on the motorway created by the Liverpool and Manchester united fans. We got into Manchester around 6pm on Saturday night, checked into our hotel/pub then rushed over to Piccadilly Station to link up with Ben and Tom. Coincidentally Ben was at Piccadilly Station for most of the day ensuring his girlfriend got the train to Hull but thanks to traffic Ben had to wait around for 3 hours (sorry) at the station.
After we had linked up we had a brief chat in one of the stations bars as Ben was waiting for his train then Adam, Tom and I headed over to Manchester’s China Town. We wandered around China Town for a little while checking out the menus before going into The Great Wall Chinese restaurant which was great, the food was fantastic and watching Adam eating with chopsticks was extremely funny
Once we had finished our meals and discussed a range of interesting topics we headed over to DeansGate (an area full of bars, clubs and pubs). At the time Tom decided on retiring for the night and went home while Adam and I ventured around looking for a cool place to hang out. We found a traditional old style pub complete with a disco and had a few refreshing beverages and got pretty wasted by drinking until near enough 4am… then on Sunday we travelled up to Bolton to pick up a server, then we started the long drive back to London.
A few hours later and we got back into Corydon and I went home via the slowest train EVER. Overall the trip was good fun and even though the trip was business based I think Adam and I will be good friends for sometime to come which is a bonus
Here is to the next Road Trip!
I’m just about to run out the door and go link up with Adam (Pro-G) down in Croydon then we’re heading up to Manchester - we will be driving up to Manchester and we expect the journey to take roughly 4-5hours. As always I’m not going to mention anything about what were doing just yet but if all goes to plan then expect some cool news in the coming weeks
Got something to say about the good and bad titles out there? Want a chance to get into the games industry? If your answer is yes, then please read on…
Two sites that I work with - namely News0r (multi-format) and Totally360 (Xbox 360) have started looking for talented writers to help in the production of content i.e. news, reviews, previews and features. At present we are unable to pay writers but we will send successful writers games* to review and provide you with a place to showcase your portfolio within the games industry.
If you’re interested in the above then get in touch with me via luke.newcombe@alienpants.com (with the subject line “Writing about games”).
UK Only for the moment but we expect to be able to support ASIA/USA soon.
PS I’m in Manchester for the next two days and my internet access is limited. Thanks for the emails so far… be assured that I’ll be replying once I’m back
