Regardless of the type of beta testing required, AlienPants can provide a working interface between the developers and the testers, ensuring that bug reports, potential issues and problems highlighted by the testers are returned in a timely and concise manner, freeing the developers to concentrate on the crunch of finishing the project.
The management of Beta testing is always under the control of a dedicated Test Manager, whose role is to co-ordinate the testing efforts, whilst ensuring that all reports are provided in a form that is of most use. All the AlienPants beta testers are real game players, and as such have a variety of hardware, software and driver configurations. Using commonly available tools, information on each participant's configuration can be gathered prior to testing, with this information being used by AlienPants to highlight potential problems before the results are passed to the developers.
Private
AlienPants, through it's extensive network of contacts and through it's involvement with the world's largest gaming chat network can quickly and effectively organise and undertake private beta testing of almost any size required. Like traditional beta testing, all bug reports are collated and edited to ensure the best results from external testing.
AlienPants also works to ensure that all beta testers are actively involved in the testing phases through the use of traditional project management techniques, modified for the online environment.
Public
Public Beta tests are a trial for any developer, as it is often the first time a game is seriously stress tested in a real-world environment. AlienPants can manage the process of finding and selecting testers, as well as distributing the beta code and managing the testing process through large beta tests.
