We have been involved in every aspect of the Games Domain GSP service, from conception, to testing and rollout, and now have a combined team of more than 30 people managing every aspect of the Games Domain Online Games experience.

AlienPants has also provided a Content Editor to specifically manage the Online Games section of the Games Domain UK website.

Joystick Junkies, besides being one of the hippest games-related brands on the market (watch out for the Joystick Junkies range of T-Shirts in Virgin MegaStores this summer) also runs a monthly club night, also called Joystick Junkies, and provides an irreverent view of the industry itself through regular editorial contributions on the website. AlienPants has been involved with Joystick Junkies from it's inception and (among other things) manages the website on a daily basis.

Beginners Game Guides

blueyonder launched a GSP service in early 2001, and one of their first stops was AlienPants. Like Games Domain, blueyonder called on AlienPants' experience to create one hundred beginner's games guides - often a customer's first introduction to online games and how they are played. The brief was to create guides of a certain size that would allow anyone with a basic knowledge of computers and the Internet to get started playing on the blueyonder games service. The guides style AlienPants created has since been adopted by blueyonder's in-house content team when creating new guides for new games.

Kazoo called on AlienPants to provide Staff and Equipment to support a press for one of their clients. Given two working days notice, we were able to provide high-specification computer hardware, installed and configured onsite to Kazoo's requirements.

The Games Domain Online Championships LAN Finals

As part of the Games Domain Community Management project, AlienPants created and ran the online portion of the Games Domain Online Championships, an online games competition. AlienPants was then contracted to organise and run the LAN finals of the GDOC, including arranging all computers and software, tournament structure, game referees and associated support services. The GDOC finals were an unqualified success, and is now considered one of the best organised and run competitions in recent history.

SCi originally contracted AlienPants during the final late-beta stage of their online football simulation The People's Game, later re-branded and sold as Genie Striker. QuakeNet is the world's largest* IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network supporting more than 150,000 regular concurrent users, and the world's largest games-specific chat network. AlienPants provides User Support and Community Management services to QuakeNet, and assists in the day-to-day maintenance of the QuakeNet website and FAQs, as well as undertaking the worldwide marketing and press services.

TV Chat Moderation

Cellcast provide the SMS-based chat services for the G@ME Network, currently broadcast on Sky Digital channel 223. Customers send in chat messages via SMS and AlienPants either approves or rejects the messages based on their content. Since the chat messages appear on Television, we have to ensure that all ITC guidelines for broadcast are followed, as well as checking for coded messages. AlienPants also guides the chat conversations by participating in the chats themselves, by answering general questions and by becoming involved with the people using the service.
